Chinese Restaurant (Modern Version) - 20100211

I seldom join lunching with my colleagues. Today was one of these occasions. To celebrate coming of the year of Tiger, we went to a Chinese restaurant, located in the newly opened Crocodile Center.

The queue for lift waiting was stunningly long. Though it was not unexpected, as Hong Kongers love to try out new stuffs at once, I suspected any cheer would be heard at the end of our lunch. To save time, we packed ourselves in a cargo lift, and were cursed by a messenger upon our occupancy.

The restaurant, a modern one, was decorated neatly and stylishly. There was an enormous aquarium in the entrance, contrastingly, its residents were as tiny as a little finger. The table cloth was in shinny white, and all the silverware were in order. The menu was newly printed, though there were some red fingerprints left on the final page.

The food was so-so. However, the atmosphere was amiable. I must confess that sometimes, I would love to chit-chat with all those women, to drill into irrelevant nosy things and make fun on unimportant ones. I trust everybody are born with the bitchy gene, it is just a matter of extent.

Nevertheless, the ending of our lunch was anything but pleasant. In a rush of time, we requested to cancel our orders that were yet to be appeared. The waitress blatantly ignored our direction. When one of our colleagues paid the bill, $514, she mistakenly handed down $700. That cunning restaurant fetched back change of $86. I could hardly believe their act was unintentional.

So, jeers were well in place of the cheers.
