Mark Hughes was sacked as the manager of football club Manchester City, after their 4-3 victory against Sunderland. Roberto Mancini replaces Hughes' hot seat.
Nowadays, football managers are comparatively young. Most of them are previously footballers, Hughes is one of those. Unfortunately, among these pre-matured footballer-turn-managers, very few could be described as successful. Maybe Josep Guardiola is one of the exceptions.
Hughes skill to manage a big squad has never been proved. Before joining Manchester City, Hughes had a short successful stint in Blackburn Rovers, a medium-size team. However, managing a big team is a different animal.
The ability to tame different talents is the key. Taking Manchester City as an example. This rich team, has signed so many expensive stars in so short a period of time. Adebayor, Bellamy, Tevez, Robinho . . . none of them could be described as of easy character. Hughes strength is dubious.
Given no spectacular track record as a manager to back himself up, and never a superstar himself as a football player, Hughes fate is more or less like Kevin Keegan, or even worse.
